How do you charge for my case in China?

In China, there are several ways to charge:

1.Hourly charging methods

Hourly fees refer to the fact that law firms charge fees on a time-by-hour basis, and the specific hourly fee standards are determined according to the lawyer's qualifications, prestige, the complexity of the case, and the regional factors of the case.

2. Piece-rate charging methods

The piece-rate fee method is one of the most widely used lawyers' fees in China's current lawyers' practice. Piece-rate charging means that law firms charge fees based on the number of cases (or legal affairs), and the specific fee standards are determined according to the prescribed or negotiated standards.

3.Proportional fee method

Proportional fees refer to the fact that the law firm charges fees in units of the amount of the subject matter of dispute, and the specific fee ratio is determined in accordance with the law or the proportion determined through consultation with the client.

4.Methods of charging fees for risk agents

Risk agency fees (also known as winning fees, winning remuneration system) is a fee method that links lawyers' remuneration with the results of representation, generally speaking, the client does not pay lawyers' fees in advance, but pays lawyers' remuneration in the proportion stipulated in the agreement from the property or benefits obtained after the success of the agency transaction, but if the lawsuit is lost or the agreed goal is not achieved, there is no need to pay remuneration.

In addition to the above-mentioned circumstances, law firms may independently negotiate with clients to determine the fee standards for lawyers' services.
